Condition: Good.

Notes: A piece typical of its era in the Soviet state of Turkmenistan. The tribal way of life was drawing to an end for the majority of Turkmen tribes of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, but their weaving talents were harnessed into a more regimented state-monitored production. All still hand-woven and using traditional designs but without the individuality of earlier tribal pieces. It's still a lovely rug though and is a piece of history in itself.
