Condition: Good, with minor low pile and minor losses at one end and corner (will be fully secured on purchase).

Notes: A village rug that embodies the best virtues of the type; playful, niaive, almost childlike visuals that are a blend of the aesthetics of the tribal nomads (from whom they most likely buy their wool and possibly dyes), and the more curvilinear, sophisticated floral designs of the Persian city and court traditions. Here we have the arabesques, vase-like motifs and flowers of the latter, yet rendered in a simple manner, and in bold primary colours, more reminiscent of the former.
