875. Provenance: Malayer, Arak area, NW Persian

Size: 210 x 127 cm

Age: circa 1930

Condition: Pretty good for age, with evenly low pile.

Notes: A charming and highly vibrant rug, with strong tribal-inspired colours (though this is a 'village' rug, it is likely that they might buy their dyes from passing nomadic herders). Wonderful and multiple shades of indigo, including the wonderful pale blue in the centre, and the superb turquoice in the border. Though I'm not alsway a fan of vivid orange, here it works beautifully.
