Condition: Very good for age.

Notes: I love this rug. A soft madder field with wonderful use of indigo blue throughout. Especially fascinating is the change in colour from one half to the other. This is not from fading, but from a change in dyes used in the weaving. It suggests that the rug was started in one location, and finished in another, once the nomads had moved to different pastures. In the new location they struggled to get exact matches for the dyes when finishing the rug. These are the touches that breathe life into rugs.
