Age: Circa 1920

Condition: Good for age. Very minor loss at one end.

Notes: A finely woven piece with the wonderful restrained palette and intricate floral design, reminiscent of Khorassan or Mesheds to the east. The town of Semnan, lying not far from Tehran on the road to Meshed, is reputed for its fine weaving. Soft wool pile on a finely spun cotton foundation.
