326. An uplifting old Moroccan Rug

326. Provenance:  Tribal, Morrocan

Size: 323 x 142 cm

Age: Circa 1950

Condition: Very good.

Notes: This is a joyful tribal rug, with natural dyes (at least to my eyes). This uses the Turkish or symmetrical knot, and woolen warps. There are three wefts (hence the floppy, loose handle) between each row of knots, and these wefts are in yellow cotton. The plain-weave kilim ends are in prime condition and they have pile motifs woven into them. A wonderful, fun rug.
