Notes: A very attractive rug indeed. The repeat of the boteh motif (in this case a rather crude tribal take), which was the precursor of the famous Paisley design, is highly effective and lends an air of calm restraint to the rug. This is balanced beautifully by the more vigorous, lively borders, both minor and major, which are both beautifully conceived and drawn. The all natural dyes in this piece are something to behold. A real gem.
